One out of every two people worldwide will develop a mental health disorder in their lifetime¹. Psychology is essential for understanding and addressing these disorders. A degree in psychology helps individuals answer questions about human thoughts, emotions, and behaviour, such as "Why do I act this way?" or "How can I be happier?", and equips them with skills to assist others.

The Care Economy is one of Singapore's growth areas, along with the Digital Economy and the Green Economy². It focuses on providing care and support services for nurturing and developing our current and future populations. Psychology plays a vital role in some of the sectors delivering these services, such as Wellness, Social Services, and Education.

With increasing and evolving demands for care, the Care Economy has become one of the fastest-growing economic sectors globally. According to the World Economic Forum, nearly 40% of upcoming job opportunities will be in the Care Economy by 2022.
